Mt. Meru has two roots. The first is India — where Radhika spent her first twenty three years, where the soil, the elders, and a five-thousand-year tradition of plant medicine shaped everything she would later build. The second is San Diego — specifically Encinitas, where the Pacific Ocean meets one of the most vibrant wellness communities in the world, and where ancient Eastern wisdom and modern Western science have been quietly converging for decades. Two worlds. One medicine. This is where Mt. Meru was born.

Our Lakadong turmeric grows in the sacred hills of Meghalaya, tended by tribal farming communities using regenerative practices passed down through generations — grown clean and harvested at peak potency, exactly as nature intended. Our haritaki comes from the ancient forests of the Western Ghats, wild-harvested by the Mahadeo Koli people from trees that have stood for centuries — because a living forest is the only pharmacy we trust. We are stewards of this land as much as we are makers of medicine.

We do not isolate. We do not extract one compound out of a thousand — because the whole is always greater than its parts. Radhika grew up in India, where the kitchen was the first pharmacy and elders knew which herb to reach for before anyone thought to call a doctor. From a young age, she was drawn to yoga. Through years of Iyengar practice, she learned that the body is always speaking that healing comes from within when prana flows freely. She also came to understand that everything you consume carries energy that either moves you toward sattva, clarity and balance, or away from it. And that prana is either preserved or diminished in the way something is grown, prepared and made. Mt. Meru exists to preserve this prana — the living force within every herb. Whole herbs, made with care, for the whole person.

In the story of Samudra Manthan, the gods churned the cosmic ocean using Mount Meru as the axis. Before nectar of immortality emerged, a deadly poison surfaced — one that could have destroyed the world.did. Shiva held this poison at his throat, at Viśuddha, containing what could not be allowed to spread. When the churning finally yielded amṛta, it is said that drops of that nectar fell to earth and became haritaki. We took our name from the churning rod. We source from where the nectar fell. And like Shiva at his throat, we take responsibility for what must be held back. Every batch is independently tested for heavy metals, potency, and purity — so that what reaches you is only medicine. A whole herb is only whole if it is clean.
